This Week: Camie Discusses Consistency

To achieve maximum results when training, consistency has to be one of the most important principles of your fitness plan.

One of the biggest mistakes new XL Health Club members make is to train extremely hard on their very first day and then take a few weeks off after they experience post-workout soreness.

When there are long periods of time in between your training sessions, your body loses whatever gains you might have achieved. In order for your body to get the most out of each training session, you have to build through consistency.

Imagine the body you want to build as a brick house, and now imagine each training session as a brick. Every time you train your body you add a brick to your house, and every time you miss a training session you remove a brick.

What will your house look like in 3 months, 6 months, a year?

In order to improve your muscle tone, balance, endurance and strength, you have to safely work the body several times a week so that each training session adds to the previous one. If you’re feeling sore, speak with one of our trainers about slowly working into a routine that reduces soreness. Also, remember that when training with weights, you should vary your routine to avoid over training the smaller muscles.

If you train consistently you will build a strong body that will be as solid as any brick house.
